Great food! Very flavorful and authentic.

The place is small but has ample seating so it's no issue when they're in the lunch rush. Huge portions with tons of ingredients.

Prices aren't bad, but they charge for most add in's so it adds up quickly.

Service was fast, even with a huge lunch rush we had our meal within 10 minutes. I would definitely return.

I don't know what happened. I have not been in here for a while (maybe 2 years or so), but their prices have gone way up. Their tacos now cost $3.50, and the quality of food AND mix drinks have gone down.

I ordered the 2  carne asada taco plate special (has rice and beans and a scoop of guacamole), nachos with carnitas, and a mojito.

The mojito tastes like a Mormon who was raised in the church and has never tasted alcohol, saw the ingredients, put those together without reading the directions, and called it a day.  (Meaning they did NOT care about the drink AT ALL)

The tacos were nothing to write home about, and the nachos were just disappointing. Granted, there was a lot of the nachos, but it was so... meh. It was just a waste.

My friend had ordered the enchiladas, spicy. He said they were okay.

In conclusion: taste of food (especially the mix drinks) did not meet the high price.  Again, they charge $3.50 for tacos each. That's the same price as the tacos at  Por Que No are, and those are way better. Gonna have to start looking at other taco places around here.

Just left this place 15 minutes ago with a takeout order. First, they messed up the order, gave me attitude about it and passive aggressively added this to my order. I came home to a soggy mess!
    WTF, unacceptable!

We must have walked by this place hundreds of times over the years, but looking for a quick spot to go before a show at The Alberta Rose Theatre, we decided to check it out. wow, glad that we did. Very reasonably priced and big portions. We both had tamales and chili rellenos, plus I had a taco, along with the beans and rice that accompanied the meals we were filled beyond capacity. And the margaritas were delicious. There are a lot of choices on Alberta Street, but this is one that stands out in flavor and quality.

For my first chimichanga experience this was the one that has soft cheese melted my heart. I wanted to meet up with my friend for lunch somewhere in the middle for both of us. This section on Alberta has a few different Mexican options to pick from but I was happy with the reviews for La Bonita. The only thing I would change about my meal was maybe adding in a Mexican Coke because it would have topped it all. I had the al pastor chimichanga. Which believe me was very tasty. The meat was flavorful and the texture was great. The humongous meal was perfect for a lunch/ next day. I just scraped the sour cream and guac on the side so that I could make the perfect bite with all the food. I felt like maybe it was a dollar or so overpriced and it is a counter service place - but for rent in this area it's understandable and the food was definitely great twice so you do get your money's worth.
